Research Associate II: Public Health Nutrition
Muskie School of Public Service, Augusta, Maine

Anticipated Salary range $65,000-$70,000


The Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service seeks applicants for a public health nutrition researcher.  The position will work closely with the Muskie School public health staff and faculty, the University of Maine Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition faculty, and program managers in the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. Grant funded projects will focus on evaluating nutrition and physical activity interventions and building capacity of allied research staff in program evaluation methodology.    Additional duties at the University will focus on collaborative initiatives with other faculty and staff, and development of a public health nutrition/physical activity research portfolio.  

Opportunities for teaching may be available through the University of Maine Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition that will encompass developing and delivering elective courses.

Qualifications:  PhD in nutrition science, DrPH, or closely related field and 3 years related work experience.  Knowledge of program evaluation, public health research methodology.  We hope to attract applicants who share a commitment to diversity, tolerance, and active examination of ideas that can provide our students with a greater understanding of the richness and complexity of our society.
